Good news, Borderlands fans – the release window forBorderlands 4just got narrowed down, and potentially by quite a lot if you want to add up all the clues that’ve been left behind byGearboxand its owner, Take-Two Interactive.
So, where does that leave us? Well, that’s up for debate – it depends on how close the two games could be released without Take-Two considering them to be clashing.GTA 6still doesn’t have an exact release date, which makes the whole thing trickier to work out, but ‘Fall’ probably indicates a release for it sometime between September and the end of November. In theory, if Zelnick simply refers to the games avoiding launching in the same seasonal window, that could leave Borderlands 4’s release sometime between April and before September or after that in December.
As Borderlands 2 fan flexes their super-fast loading, Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford appears to tease “seamless” Borderlands 4 loading, then refuses to elaborate.

After spending more hours than I can count filling The University of Sheffield’s student newspaper with Pokemon and indie game content, and picking up a degree in Journalism Studies, I started my career at GAMINGbible where I worked as a journalist for over a year and a half. I then became TechRadar Gaming’s news writer, where I sourced stories and wrote about all sorts of intriguing topics. In my spare time, you’re sure to find me on my Nintendo Switch or PS5 playing through story-driven RPGs like Xenoblade Chronicles and Persona 5 Royal, nuzlocking old Pokemon games, or going for a Victory Royale in Fortnite.
