Ahead of its imminent release into early access, developer Gentlymad Studios just offered a new glimpse at apocalyptic city-building sequel Endzone 2, which is set to arrive on Steam in just a few days' time.

Shown off at theFuture Games Showat Gamescom Presented by Sid Meier’s Civilization® VII, Endzone 2 offered a look at building, resource gathering, and unit movement. Underneath that, of course, was a very close look at the game’s apocalyptic world, which was destroyed after an ecological disaster.

Endzone 2 is expected to spend at least a year in early access, during which time developer Gentlymad hopes to use player feedback to improve the game. The lessons that the team learned from the previous game will also shape this sequel’s development, with plans to split updates between smaller and larger patches. Having worked hard to set itself apart from a busy genre with its original game, it looks like Gentlymad is hoping to do even more with Endzone 2.
