GTA Online Bounty Hunting is now available, meaning you can set up your own Bail Enforcement business and help Maude Eccles settle into a well-earned retirement. Working alongside her daughter Jenette, you’ll be chasing down Bounty Targets across Los Santos and Blaine County to clean up the streets – and bring home that sweet reward money, of course! This is one of the main additions with theGTA Online Bottom Dollar Bountiesupdate and it pays to know how to get this new enterprise up and running, so here’s everything you need to know about Bounty Hunting in GTA Online.

When you head outside after the update, you should receive a call from Maude encouraging you to purchase a Bail Office so you can start a GTA Online Bounty Hunting business. Open your phone and head to the Maze Bank Foreclosures website, then filter the results by Bail Offices. This gives you five options for where to establish your business, ranging in price from $1,650,000 up in Paleto Bay to $2,620,000 in Downtown Vinewood – where you choose to set up doesn’t make much difference, but as you need to regularly visit your office and return targets there I recommend you pick one of the options in Los Santos for ease of access.
With a location selected, you then have the following options for how you want to customize your Bail Office:
While Style is merely a cosmetic choice, adding Agents to your business speeds up the processing time for Targets, or you can send them out on their own assignments to earn extra income. Personal Quarters let you rest and spawn at the business, a Gun Locker allows you to customize your loadout, and Armor Plating makes your Bail Enforcement van more resilient to attacks while transporting Targets.
How to select a Bounty Target in GTA Online
After logging on to the computer in your Bail Office, you’ll be presented with four potential Bounty Targets on screen – the three marked in blue are Standard Targets that change every hour, while the red Most Wanted Target changes daily. The Most Wanted Target has a significantly higher bounty, and tracking them down involves a multi-part mission that can be taken on by 1-4 players, while the Standard Targets are chased down solo and can usually be identified after a small shootout. You only get one team life when hunting a Most Wanted Target, but can die repeatedly while chasing a Standard Target without penalty.
Once you’ve defeated any enemies protecting them, you then need to secure the Bounty Target. The easiest way to do this is by shooting them with theGTA Online Stun Gun, which will disable them so you can then approach and follow the prompt to secure the Target. If you don’t have access to that then you need to disarm the Target another way, so try shooting their weapon or arm to force them to surrender. Once secured, you’ll automatically place the Target in your van to transport them back to the Bail Office, and you’ll almost certainly be attacked on the way back so be prepared to fight back or try to outrun them.
The other option if you’re struggling is to simply kill the Bounty Target, eliminating the need to subdue them. However, this will reduce your bounty value by 75% so I don’t recommend that approach unless you run out of alternatives. If the Target is killed, you’ll need to take their body to the LS County Coroners instead so it can be quietly disposed of, though again your van will be attacked over the course of your journey.
