It can be hard to figure out how to get it though as it’s not essential right away, the game doesn’t highlight where to find it, and it’s slightly random when it does drop. How to find resin in Enshrouded
To get resin in Enshrouded you just need to chop down trees, specifically ones with orange, red or brown leaves. All trees have a chance of dropping resin when harvested, but any with non-green leaves seem have the highest probability. Larger trees have a better chance of dropping resin overall but even a small orange tree can match the largest green leaved tree’s output. If you’ve only collected wood from smaller trees so far and not paid attention to leaf color, there’s probably a good chance you might not have found any resin yet or picked it up without needing it and not made the connection to a source.
So, short version: any tree has a chance of dropping resin but those with orange colored leaves will drop resin at a much higher proportion.
If you need Resin super early then head to Longkeep, right in the starting area. You’ll find three orange trees there that get you six resin minimum most times you chop them down. At the moment, everything respawns when you log in again so, as you’ve most likely stuck your first base somewhere near this area, you can keep logging in and out to reset the trees and re-harvest them.
Generally, if you want to farm resin in Enshrouded the best way is to make use of the fact that Enshrouded trees respawn whenever you log in. So find a good spot, chop down some trees, collect the resin, log out, log in again, and chop down the same trees. You can repeat this until you’ve got enough resin. Just beware that the Enshrouded developers might prevent this at any point in the future if this isn’t intentional.
The opening area generally has enough trees overall if you just want to chop down everything and trust to luck you’ll get plenty of resin through RNG alone:

Upgrading your axe will also help speed up the process of gathering resin, because you can cut down trees faster and for longer before you need to repair or replace tools.
