With Tekken 8 crossplay enabled you’re widening the pool of potential opponents to fight against, so instead of just being restricted to facing off against those on the same platform you can dust off with players across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. You can also add friends in Tekken 8 across all platforms, to make organizing online fights with your pals a lot easier to manage.

However, while this sort of cross-platform play can be very useful to expand the scope of a game, not all players are keen to have it switched on, especially if they’re experiencing performance issues or even cheating from those on other systems. In fact, when you load up the game for the first time it’s likely that you’ll immediately be taken to the above screen, asking whether you want to turn Tekken 8 crossplay on or off. Naturally, the recommendation is to turn cross-platform play on to maximize the number of players you can be matched against, but your choice here is down to your personal preference.

Don’t worry though, as the choice you make there isn’t binding in any way. If you decide you want to change your approach to crossplay in Tekken 8 at any point, then all you need to do is head to the Options menu, then select Game Option Settings and scroll down to Cross-Platform Play, where you can turn it off or on.

If you’re on PlayStation or Xbox then it’s easy to add friends in Tekken 8 who are on the same platform, as you can just open the Community option from the main menu then select Friend List. This will show all friends on your platform, then you can select any of them and use the Tekken 8 Friend Request prompt to add them to your in-game friends.
