The first trailer for Squid Game: The Challenge has arrived, teasing a real-life take on the hit Korean survival drama.
Squid Game: The Challenge will start out with 456 contestants. Per the official synopsis: “As they compete through a series of games inspired by the original show – plus surprising new additions – their strategies, alliances, and character will be put to the test while competitors are eliminated around them.” The trailer gives us a glimpse of players participating in a less brutal version of Red Light, Green Light, as well as their dormitory full of bunk beds and the masked guards in their pink jumpsuits.
The prize money isn’t quite as hefty as the reward in the original series, but it’s no small sum – the winner will take home $4.56 million, the largest single cash prize in game show history. The show will consist of 10 episodes and premiere globally on November 22. Batches of new episodes are set to release every Wednesday until December 6.
