Roboto Games has shown off more of what its upcoming open-world survival game Stormforge is all about at The Future Games Show at Gamescom presented by Sid Meier’s Civilization® VII.
The teaser trailer shows off one of the magical storms central to Stormforge’s premise. As a Stormforged, you can harness power from these phenomena. Your humble abode, though? Not so much. As part of the moment-to-moment gameplay, you’ll gather “critical magical elements” from inside those storms to craft weapons, armor, and structures to fortify your bases from those very storms further.
Our trailer shows just one of these natural disasters - a firestorm racing through a biome - before we get glimpses of crafting and the different sorts of biomes we’ll be exploring, from forests to deserts.
That’s not the only danger, though. Regardless of whether you’re tending your base or are out and about, you’ll meet plenty of grunts. Stormforge has a varied offering of how you do just that. There are melee, ranged, and magical weapons to wield so that you can roleplay anything from a burly brawler to a Viking mage.
All of this is in hopes of finding the source of darkness that causes the storms bringing ruin to the world of Sorana. The quest doesn’t need to be done alone, as you can play solo or with up to seven friends. You can also expect something new on each replay as the world is procedurally generated, offering replayability similar to the likes of Valheim and more.
